From the article:
Truck enthusiasts today are building trucks that not only look cool but can also be used for daily driving duty and some serious hauling and utility functions. Protecting the bed of your truck from unsightly dings, scratches, and rust is the first step to worry-free hauling and what better way to do that than with a custom Vortex™ spray-on bed liner.... In the past, utility-minded truck owners would use a plastic drop-in bed liner to protect their truck bed's interior walls from being damaged by shifting or abrasive loads. the main disadvantage of a drop-in liner is that moisture gets caught between the liner and the bed floor, causing rust. Dirt, rocks and other debris can also get trapped between the liner and the bed floor, which causes the unnecessary damage to the bed box surface.
Vortex has the solution with its portable on-the-spot spray-liner system that, ... "does not require large compressors that create a lot of mess and over spray." The Vortex™ patent pending system uses a special blower system, allowing the liner to be applied anywhere. All that's needed is an outlet to plug the portable unit into. Recently we wanted to see what all the fuss was about and followed along as the Vortex technicians sprayed the bed of a new body-style Chevy truck with the Vortex™ Sprayliner System. They also took the extra steps to incorporate a Harley-Davidson logo right in the center of the bed floor.
The folks at Vortex give the customer the option to customize their bedliner with a variety of logos and an array of colors. In addition to truck beds, Vortex™ offers its product for use on several different surfaces, including boat trailers, pipes, decks, floors, cement surfaces, walls, farm equipment, wood, steel, iron and undercarriages, just to name a few.
